UNESCO City of Literature, Bucheon in South Korea, are currently taking nominations for its fifth Bucheon Diaspora Literary Awards.

Anyone could nominate a book title. The submission period is from 25 November - 13 December 2024. The key focus is on diaspora and this is what you should consider when making that nomination.

In 2024, Mohamed Mbougar Sarr won the award with The Most Secret Memory of Men.

'The interconnectedness of global literature is like the miracle of the world’s libraries, where books from diverse cultures engage in deep, invisible conversations with readers everywhere. From this perspective, we may all be a diaspora of one great imaginary and ancient nation, the nation of literature.'
