The City of Literature Trust is thrilled to welcome three new Trustees to its Board as it looks towards the future of Edinburgh as a City of Literature and a new chapter of international development for the Trust.

Emma Collins, Catriona Boyd and Rachel Gaughan will be joining the Board at an exciting time as the Trust celebrates 20 years of being the first City of Literature by hosting the UNESCO Cities of Literature Conference this October.

The appointments were made after a public call produced a strong list of applicants with expertise in legal, marketing, and artform. The diverse range of talented candidates revealed just how many individuals share the Trust’s passion for promoting and celebrating Edinburgh’s literary story.

'I am thrilled to be joining the Board of the Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust! Edinburgh's literary culture has been a big part of my life, whether it's spending many days exploring its bookshops, enjoying its literary events or getting lost in a great book by a Scottish author. I can't wait to play a small part in helping this culture grow and sharing it with the world.'

'I'm delighted to join the board of Edinburgh City of Literature as it approaches its 20th anniversary. The organisation is a leading light in supporting writers and literature professionals not just in Edinburgh but across the globe and I feel privileged to be part of supporting the next chapter of their story.'

'It is a real privilege to join the Board of the Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust and I look forward to contributing to its exciting programme of work to support Scottish writing and cultural exchange.'

Gerald Richards, Interim Chair of the City of Literature Trust said: “The board members of the Edinburgh City of Literature are very excited to have these three new Trustees join the Board. Their drive, ambition and invested interest in Edinburgh's literary scene make them excellent additions. We look forward to start working alongside Catriona, Emma and Rachel.

It will be an exciting new chapter.
