Cymera is Scotland's Festival of Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Horror writing, and runs from 5-7 June this year.

Originally programmed to run as a physical festival in Edinburgh, the Cymera team asked their authors if they would be willing to take part in a digital festival given the current restrictions and concerns relating to Covid-19.

Many of the authors said yes, and they've now programmed a fantastic digital festival complete with author talks, workshops, quizzes, a writing prize, open mic, and more.

You can browse the full programme here. Events are a mix of live features and pre-recorded events via Zoom, and all events except the workshops are free.

To support the Festival's speakers, you can consider 'buying' a ticket, where the full amount raised via ticket sales for each event will go to the speakers. You can read more about their 'Support our Authors' campaign here.

Last week we spoke to Ann Landmann, Director of Cymera, as part of our #EdLitSpotlightSeries. We talked about what it's been like planning and running a digital programme during lockdown, the exciting events to come as part of the Festival, and hopes for the future of Cymera. You can catch up on this conversation below.
