Edinburgh City of Literature Trust has created #EdLitCash as a way of celebrating the connection between the city's literary community and its designation as the world's first UNESCO City of Literature.

Edinburgh Literary Cash will offer weekly cash awards during the lockdown period to individuals with unique ideas for getting Edinburgh reading and writing, whilst celebrating the city's UNESCO City of Literature status.

We are looking for entries from Edinburgh's creative community (authors, writers, bookshops, publishers, readers, children, community groups, and more) with an interest in supporting and benefiting their local reading and writing communities. As the people who make up our city, we believe they are best placed to think of the many ways the literary city might work for them in the future.

Call-outs for entries will be announced each Tuesday using #EdLitCash online (on Twitter and Facebook), with the weekly winners announced each Friday. Selected entrants will be offered a single payment of £100 for their responses, with up to four ideas being selected each week.

There is no deadline, but new submissions will be selected on a weekly basis from the applications available.

You can also apply by dropping us an email with a short proposal (minimum 100 words) to edinburgh@cityofliterature.com including EdLitCash in the subject heading.
