Scotland by-the-Book is the app for traveller, staycationer or armchair wanderer from Scottish publishers, Birlinn
Scotland by-the-Book is a free app which brings books on history, geology, mapping, cooking, fiction, travel, poetry, politics and more to readers across the globe with an interest in Scotland. The app includes an interactive map of Scotland featuring the most exciting books, bookshops and literary events this country has to offer. Created in collaboration with digital agency Zudu, the app Birlinn Limited's project, bringing Scotland’s writing to the world. For more on the app, find out here.
With authors and books relating to every region of the country, you can use this app to find the finest writing, the best local bookstores in your area and literary festivals close to your destination in Scotland. Publicity and Marketing Director Jan Rutherford conceived the idea as a way to share Scotland's stories with people no matter where in the world they are, a long-standing mission at Birlinn. Jan says:
