Edinburgh Makar, Michael Pedersen, and the 3rd year animation students at Edinburgh College of Art have been working jointly to create a beautiful piece of work that is a cine-poem love letter to Edinburgh, to celebrate our 20th anniversary as the world's first UNESCO City of Literature.
For World Poetry Day on Friday 21st March, we shared a teaser trailer of the video without the poetry to get you excited for the reveal. Last night we had a brilliant screening of the work at the Fruitmarket Cafe, with Michael reading his marvellous work. And below is Michael's poem in its originally written format.
You can catch the first stanza of Be More below and the whole poem is available here as a pdf to download, and also visit our Instagram profile to catch a teaser of the stunning animation work by the Edinburgh College of Art students. If you want to catch the film in full you can currently find it over on The Scotsman or below.

The animated version of the poem, as mastered by the Edinburgh College of Art third year animation students is below for you to watch. Enjoy this wonderful rendering of our fine city.
