The Audacious Women Festival is a chance to break personal, political, and institutional barriers, and celebrate audacious women from all backgrounds.

Run by the Audacious Women Collective, the Festival features events about books, dance, art, and music, all of which invite you to take your own steps on your journey towards audacity, whilst celebrating the achievements of the audacious women who have gone before you.

The programme features women-only workshops, exciting performances, conversations, exhibitions, and much more. You can find more details about the events taking place on the Festival's 2020 Programme page.

A taster of literature-related events:

Wild Women Writing with poet/author on 23 Feb 2020: in this taster workshop Magi Gibson will use a variety of jumping off points to help you find your true voice. By the end of the session you should have renewed energy, clearer goals and increased self-confidence.

Using Story for Personal Empowerment on 23 Feb 2020: this personal development workshop will help you understand your own behaviours and the limits we place on ourselves. It will look at some well-known stories – from a Greek myth to a Scottish fairy tale – to identify the patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours of the lead female characters, and explore their resonance and relevance to our own lives today.

Radical Voices : Open Mic on 23 Feb 2020: head along and share a song or a story, or just listen to singers of radical songs, stories and poems on the theme of audacious women.

These are just a few examples of what's happening. You can also help the Festival inspire, encourage and support other women by telling them about something audacious you've done - they will add it to their stories of women's Audacious Acts.

Or if there's something you really want to do, but aren't quite sure how or when, make a promise to yourself to explore it. If you tell them about it, they will add you to their page of Audacious Pledges.
